Scientific activities
The main scientific activity focuses on magnetocaloric materials based on the Heusler Ni2XY phase, used for magnetic cooling/heating. Research of these alloys includes thermodynamic calculations (ThermoCalc), fabrication (melting, monocrystallization, 3D printing) and characterization of microstructure (light microscopy, SEM, TEM), phase composition (XRD) and magnetic properties (VSM).
Other areas of research interest include magnetic shape memory, metallic foams and historical processing methods for ferrous alloys.
From 2018 to 2020 he was the supervisor of the WAKANS Student Research Group.
Projects
- Construction and validation of a laboratory station for ultrasonic atomization of functional materials for 3D printing, (2020-2021), Excelence Initiative: Research University, funded by POB Technologie materiałowe. Project leader, principal investigator.
- Influence of the form and structure of the Heusler alloys on the intensity of a magnetocaloric effect, National Science Centre, UMO-2011/01/D/ST8/02641, (2011-2014), Project leader, principal investigator.
