Amorphous and Nanocrystalline, Magnetically Soft Materials Group

The Amorphous and Nanocrystalline, Magnetically Soft Materials Group is the part of the Structural and Functional Materials Division, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, WUT. The scope of activities comprises the design, manufacture as well as structure and properties investigations of magnetically soft materials.

The principal area of scientific interest of the Group are the alloys with amorphous-nanocrystalline structure, obtained by partial crystallisation of metallic glasses. The Group develops non‑conventional heat treatment of metallic glasses and elaborates nanocrystalline alloys possessing high magnetisation and low losses. Morover, its members have experience in manufacture and investigation of materials exhibiting magnetocaloric effect at ambient temperature.

The Group carries out scientific investigations within the research projects financed by the National Science Centre (NSC), National Centre for Research and Development (NCRD) and the European Commission (e.g. Innovative Economy Operational Programme (IEOP), EC’s Framework Programmes). It cooperates with Polish as well as foreign scientific institutions and industry.
