Polymers

The research group specializes in analysis of the relationship between the structure and properties of various polymer materials. For many years, the group has been dealing with applications of various groups of polyurethane materials.

Currently, research focuses on applications of polymeric materials with special properties, e.g., with high energy absorption capacity and high fire resistance (gas cylinder covers, shields for firemen), high fire resistance of polyurethane materials (insulating materials with reduced prices), polyurethane materials produced using renewable raw materials (elastic, viscoelastic, rigid foams elastomers), materials for use as cryo-isolations.

  1. Polymeric materials - description of the structure, characteristics of properties, relationships between structure and properties, degradation of polymers
  2. Polymer thermoplastic composites - including the use of natural fillers (Natural Fiber Composites NFC), in particular by-products from the agro-food industry.
  3. Polyurethane materials - relationships between the structure and properties of: polyurethane elastomers, rigid foams, semi-rigid foams, viscoelastic foams, elastic foams, polyurethane composites.
  4. Polyurethane materials produced using renewable raw materials.
  5. Degradable and biodegradable polymers.
  6. Recycling of thermoplastics and polymer duroplasts
